Craftsmanship

Unique and perfect

"What is elegance? It is an intellectual quality, a special skill in managing one’s appearance, the circles one moves in, one’s attitude, one’s outlook on the world. It isn’t just one thing; it’s how one does things.”.
Barbara Ronchi Della Rocca, La vera eleganza ("True Elegance")

Manifattura - Farfalla italian slippers

Craftsmanship

Made in Italy

Skill and top-quality raw materials. A Farfalla slipper is the result of handcrafted work entrusted to a highly-qualified workforce, men and women who have inherited precious experience that they have developed over time with dedication and ability. The selection of exclusive materials is also vital: soft Nappa leather and calf, crocodile, ostrich, and highly-prized fabrics such as cashmere. Tradition and daring, creating a style that echoes the past while alluding to the future.

Design

It all starts with an idea. And the idea is simple: people who wear Farfalla footwear see themselves as men or women who live every situation, every day and every moment of the day, with elegance. So the shapes are soft and classy, like the raw materials used. These are the criteria that have always been followed in the design and production of the collections.

This is the most delicate operation. Expert hands and eyes are needed to work raw materials following the project plans. They have to be accurate down to the last millimetre, they need deep and extensive knowledge of every single material. This is the foundation of all subsequent processes, and is the backdrop on which the image of a Farfalla shoe is based.

Every phase is carried out with meticulous care. Attention to detail is essential in Farfalla footware. Step after step, brushstroke after brushstroke, the product acquires the desired shape. The result can be nothing but perfect.

The seamstresses give the slippers their initial shape, working with a machine or by hand, as required. The process has a timeless feel to it in which Farfalla’s experience and manufacturing history are fully apparent, the guarantee of a careful check of the product. No detail is left to chance.

We are nearly there. Now comes the decisive step as the slipper actually becomes a genuine slipper. This stage has a mysterious quality to it, like a flower blossoming, like a picture that finally emerges on canvas. Once more the experience and skill of the craftsmen and women of the Farfalla group make the difference. Thanks to them, the slipper is carefully finished to ensure that it meets all the required comfort and quality standards.

The last step in the process. There are still details to be seen to, all kinds of details. With stretching and finishing every single part of the shoe is worked in such a way that the final product is perfect, unique and unrepeatable. And special, like the person somewhere in the world who eventually wears it will want to feel.
